🔧 Hardware Troubleshooting

Laptop Disassembly

  • Disconnect all cables and power before opening the laptop.
  • Use ESD protection (wrist strap, non-carpeted surface).
  • Remove the battery using the locking sliders or latches.
  • Remove underside covers with a magnet-tipped Phillips screwdriver.
  • Hard drives typically slide out opposite the data pins once screws are removed.
  • RAM modules pop up at about a 30° angle when side clips are pushed outward; pull them out gently.
  • Wireless cards detach at an angle; carefully disconnect antenna leads before removal.

Desktop Case Opening
